No start condition for a 1989 honda accord.

Sent to Car Experts July 07 07:58 PM

I have a 1989 honda accord that I got from a family member. The issue is that the battery cables were installed incorrectly, {+ to - & - to +}. I went thru the car & replaced all the fuses that needed to be replaced in the engine compartment & under the dash. I have also replaced the computer, ignition switch, fuel pump & the main relay. The car cranks over, I have spark at the plugs, plug wires, & ignition coil. What I don't have is power at the fuel pump. I have checked the main relay for continuity & it still checks out okay. What I would like to know is what else would keep voltage from getting to the fuel pump?

Optional Information:
1989 Honda Accord Lxi 2.0 L

Already Tried:
Replaced the following components: Computer, ignition switch, fuel pump, main relay & all blown fuses including a battery.

Did you check to see if you have power to the fuel pump. If you do not have power to the fuel pump. There is a feul pump relay. There may also be a Fuel cut-off switch. If the car is involved in an accident. Especially a rear end accided, the fuel cut-off switch will cut off the feul flow.

But before I go that far I would check the pump for power at the pump.

Reply to James's Post: I checked for power at the fuel pump & there is no power at the pump. Also this car does not have a fuel cut-off switch & was not involved in an accident. What I would like to know is what else can keep power from getting to the pump?
