1998 Trans Am, 6 speed,clutch works fine but the pedal does not come back to the top without pulling it up yourself. If you pump it a few times it will work only for a few times. What is the problem?    Thanks,    Ivey

Just to be on the same page, if you push the pedal down to shift gears, and release the pedal, the pedal stays down, but the transmission is now engaged?
