Hi: I have a 1997 Ford Explorer, I was told that there is something wrong with the transfer box for the 4x4. The lights constantly come on, even if you are just doing city driving. My son-in-law said that the transfer box can be removed and it will solve the problem of the noise it makes. I live in Panama City and really have no need for the 4x4.
Do you think that eliminating the box would not cause other problems?
