My 1997 ford expedition has a very rough ...

My 1997 ford expedition has a very rough acceleration when i lift my foot from the gas it calms down when i accelerate it shakes the truck. fuel injectors or fuel pump. it feels like a bad spark plug or rotor if it had them

Thanks for the question.

If you think it is missing, check the #4 coil. This will be the very rear cylinder on the passengers side. Look for any coolant leaks on top of the coil. The heater hose above this coil leaks. If this is what you have, you will need to replace the coil and plug and heater hose clamp. The old clamp will not tighten down anymore.

I am not car literate im not sure what you mean about the coil how does this work with the accelerator. is my problem not related to fuel pump or fuel injectors. how much should this repair cost at a dealership?

At the dealer about 1-2 hours worth of labor and the coil is about $80.

I wont bother you anymore after this and I will accept your answer but can you explain what is wrong with my car what does this coil do and is it related to a fuel issue or something else

On your engine there is a coil per cylinder. The coil is what produces spark at each spark plug. When water drips on the #4 coil it shorts out the coil causing a missfire. If that is what you have. The reason I bring this up, is most of the time this is the repairs I make on a daily basis. I just wanted you to see if you seen any evidence of coolant leaking on the #4 coil.
