Shift Points too HIGH on Mercedes Auto Transmission

I have had the transmission replaced on my 1983 Mercedes 380 SEL. It is a very good transmission..excellent behavior and shifting action. However, the shift points (from each gear to the next gear) seems to be too HIGH (engine speed needs to be around 2500 rpm to change gears..even with very little engine load). I believe there is an adjustment for that...but what is it?? (It is not the Modulator.)

Larry C. Martin
