Reply to Michael's Post: pontiac grand am g,t. 99 after driving 10 or 15 min. car runs 15-25 degee hotter, repaired intake gaskit leak after that problem started.I didn't bleed air from cooling system at first.Which lead to boil over which cause overheating at this time.

I still don't see a question here but let me see if I have this right.Your engine was running a little hotter than normal (about 25 deg)So you began to throw parts at it.Intake gasket, thermostat, water pump and in the process of performing some of the work you forgot or did not bleed the cooling system properly and the engine really overheats now.is this correct? If so i would say that the problem all along was a bad head gasket and the overheating that occured after the work you did made it much worse , now allowing exhaust gas into the cooling system.A simple test will verify this. Most any shop can check at the radiator filler cap for HC with a sniffer(Gas probe). This is the quickest easiest way to check for a bad head gasket. It's only about $25 and well worth it.

Ouch. You did not mention you replaced the cap. Please post everything else you have checked, replaced,or tested so we can focus on what remains.Things like fan operation, sending unit resistance etc. This will prevent additional unecessary posts.
