i have a 1990 f150,4.9. after sitting all day or night,it is hard to start. after that it starts with no problem

Thanks for the great question.

Sounds like the fuel pressure is dropping down over a long period of time. You will need to do a fuel pressure test to see if the fuel pressure drops after shutting the engine off. It should not drop anymore than 10 psi over a 2 hour period.

after two hours it will start with no problem.after sitting all day or night then there is aproblem

Then the best thing to do is to put the fuel pressure gauge on overnight and see if it drops.

You are either looking at a bad fuel pressure regulator, and leaking injector or a bad fuel pump.

Does this have dual tanks?
