97 Ranger Air conditioner keeps getting high pressure on low pressure side. This causes pressure switch to shut off clutch to compressor. I s the whole system overcharged or is it some other problem? I only have a guage to charge the system. Do you have an idea on repair cost?

Optional Information:
1997 Ford Ranger 4.0L

Already Tried:
bleeding off pressure until it is in recommended range. Works for a day or 2, but problem comes back. At first I thought the press. switch was bad; but the guage was back to 100 to 150 PSI on low (charge) side.
