I always feel a 'thud' during the 1st - 2nd shift, the rest of the shifting are ok. I have an Isuzu 95 Limited Edition with automatic transmission. what seem to be the problem ?

The first thing to inspect is the drive shaft U-joints and rear axle pinion gear for play.If all other shift points are OK this is the first place to look for trouble.That's where you would notice worn components there between 1st and 2nd gear under the most force.Once the vehicle gains momentum you don't notice it so much.
