I have a 1999 Corvette and keep buying new batteries for the FOB's even bought new FOB's but they don't retain memory. Now when I turn on the windshield wipers the dash lights go out and the radio goes off. This morning it won't even start after sitting for about a month. Any suggestions?

Hi it does not sound like its the batterys to me this is what i would do at this point.

1. take both of my battery terminals off and check them real good.

2. then get me a wire brush and clean them good.

3. then take the bolt out of the positive terminal you should have two leads here clean the bolt good and take you a box knife and trim the rubber off so its metal to metal do this on both positive cables then hook your positive cable back up to your battery then take your negetive cable and do the same making sure you tighten them real good then make sure you have 12 volts in the battery then try to start car note if connettions are really bad i recomend replaceing all cables but i think this is your problem. Thanks

Reply to al's Post: I have already cleaned the battery cables when I replaced the battery in the car, which didn't help my problem either because something is still draining the battery somewhere.

Hi does it drain the battery over night? Or does it take a few days any way this is what you are gonna have to do you will need some one to help you do this and you will need an ohm meter un hook your pos battery terminal and touchone test lead to the terminal and then touch the other lead to the battery post this should show a 12volt drain on your meter then your helper needs to start pulling fuses one at a time when you see your meter drop you will know this is the circuit that is causing your drain then check to see what all is wired on this circuit then elemenate each one untill you clear the drain. Thanks

Reply to al's Post: Thanks for your help with this I do appreciate it. However my last question would be about relays. Do you think that could be playing any part in this problem? I heard something under the toe kick after the car was shut off which is where part of the fuses and I believe computer is on this car. Again I do appreciate your help.
