blower on heater defroster keeps shorting out
Sent to Car Experts September 21 04:25 AM

The wires for my heater blower keep shorting out at the plug which is located under the dash. I have a 1991 mercury tracer. I have electrical taped them a couple of times and that works for awhile. Now the whole plug is getting burnt and the plastic is melting. Can I buy a new plug and replace it? And if so what is it called?

What you are looking for is a blower motor pigtail. You may have to go to the dealer for it. If there is a salvage yard around you you may find one there. The connections start to get loose and that is when they heat up.
