i have a 88 mustang 2.3 liter. it runs great but it starts to get a vibration really bad around 60 mph. i have checked all i can can you give me some ideas? it has a 5 speed transmission.

 

Optional Information:
1988 Ford mustang 2.3

Already Tried:
i turned the driveshaft 180 degrees, i checked engine and trans mounts , engine timing, plugs wires and dist. cap.

You should check the wheel balance but I would almost bet that you have bad u-joints.Did you remove the driveshaft to wiggle the joints around and check for flat spots?They can be hard to feel.You could also have a bent wheel or out of round tire.If you rotate the tires and the vibration changes you will know that it is tire/wheel related.

Reply to Davo/diablo666's Post: i took the driveshaft out and checked the joints although i guess that the joints are still possible can anything else be causing this? i do not feel it in the steering wheel but i do feel it in the rest of the car.

I would put the u-joints in if it were me or at least pull the cups off of the back one but it could still be the front joint.U-joints are cheap,I would give it a shot personally.
