If you have antifreeze leaking inside the vehicle there are only two possibilities. They are the hose clamps to the heater core are not tight and the antifreeze is following the core tubes inside or the heater core itself is leaking. More than likely you have a leaking core, but I have seen a couple of cases where tightening the hose clamps took care of the leak. Here are the instructions for replacing a heater core.

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

  1. Battery ground cable.
  2. Drain the radiator.
  3. Heater hoses from the core tubes (148).
    • Plug the core tubes to prevent spillage.
  1. Instrument panel compartment and door.
  2. Center duct to the selector duct (200).
  3. Center lower and center upper ducts.
  4. Temperature door cable.
  5. Nuts from the three selector duct studs that project into the dash panel.
  6. Selector duct to dash panel screw (inside the vehicle).
  7. Selector duct assembly.
    • Pull rearward until the core tubes clear the dash panel.
    • Lower the selector assembly to reach the vacuum and electrical harness.
  1. Vacuum and electrical harness.
  2. Selector duct assembly.
  3. Core mounting strap screws.
  4. Core.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

  1. Core.
  2. Core mounting strap screws.
  3. Selector duct assembly.
  4. Vacuum and electrical harnesses.
  5. Selector duct assembly.
  6. Temperature door cable.
  7. Center lower and center upper ducts.
  8. Center duct to selector duct.
  9. Instrument panel bar and door.
  10. Heater hoses.
  11. Coolant to the radiator.
  12. Battery ground cable.

ADJUST

  • Temperature door cable.

You do not need to remove the dash per the intructions. You do need to remove the glove compartment. I do not have pictures of the removal procedures, but I do have parts blow ups to reference. Here they are.
