Ihave a 2001 Jetta gl, manual car. I have noticed that while driving on the freeway the car will feel like I am not giving it any gas, although my foot is on the gas pedal. When I feel this llack of power, I depress the petal futher and the can seems to respond. What might this be a symptom of?

Could be literally hundreds of things. Is the check engine light illuminating? It's most indicative of a fuel delivery problem which you have partially adressed.Although I am not a big fan of throwing parts at a problem.if I was going to,I would have started there with the fuel pump. This issue will require diagnosis to isolate. If you are equipped with diagnostic tools and equipment and have a basic knowledge of computerized engine control and fuel injection let me know and I will give you a few test procedures to localize the problem. If not,it would be my suggestion that you have this diagnosed for you.Something like this can be isolated very quickly in most cases at a well equipped shop.(an hour or so)It would be well worth the diagnosis in your case with the cost of parts on that car. Then make the repair yourself with my guidance. If the engine light is lit, let me know what codes are present.many parts stores check codes for free. Please click my ACCEPT button if this will be helpful.Thanx Customer (name blocked for privacy)!Good Luck.
