i am on the freeway . a dull thud sound comes from the engine , then it starts to loose power like it is starving for fuel . i pull over , get out and check under the hood, everything looks normal except the exhaust manifold is glowing red hot. the car would not start after that and i got a tow home. I talked to a couple of freinds and both told me that it may be a cloged catilitic converter. So I loosend the connection between the exhaust pipe and converter a little and tried to start it up. It did fire up , only ran choppy and didnt want to stay running. B ut it did act like it wanted to run. Maybe I can get some expert advice on my problem.        THANK YOU VRRY MUCH.
