what causes a camshaft position sensor A Bank 1 circuit malfuction, and how to repair it.

The electrical part of the sensor is bolted to the top of the synchronizer drive unit. The electrical part fails often but sometimes there is a proble with the drive also. Remove the sensor with the 2 screws and inspect the vane underneathe for any damage to it. If you end up changing the synchronizer also, mark the position very carefully for both vane position and housing position. If you don't mark it, you'll need a special tool to get it in the right position again.

The Camshaft Position Sensor is located in front of the engine, and is part of the distributor assembly.
