Suzuki Sidekick JX 1994 128500 miles, running great.
Bought a remanufactured clutch kit from a reputable parts reseller online, had it installed and ever since never functioned well. (Since Jan 11th) Assuming that there was no gross defect, what could have gone wrong during the installation?
Shop states that clutch is bad but it does not slip and sometimes -- depending on RPM -- works smoothly, although there is no leeway on the pedal, meaning that gears are hard to change and only happen when pedal is at the end of its travel distance. the shop, after charging me again and again ... trying to fix it,putting a nut on the throwback, changing the cable, resurfacing the flywhell, replacing the actuator, asking me to "give it some time" and that it will never "feel" the same, wants to charge me to remove the entire set because I will send it to the manufacturer (that I contacted and suggested me to initiate a labor claim because they stand behind their products--it's the only thing they do: clutch) for inspection before their 3 months waranty expires.
Now when I shift it to gear, the car star moving although my foot is still holding the clutch pedal down!
What do I do if it is found that the installation was not done to spec? I did sent the Manufacturer's website to the mechanics with a detailed explaination on how to install their remanufactured clutch kit for the Suzuki Sidekick. My e-mail is: hermy0123@yahoo.com
Thanks for your prompt answer.
Waranty expires 04/11/06 and I want the manufacturer to have it no later than the 7th.
