Just a suggestion. If you have less than 100,000 miles this concern might be covered under the diesel warranty. They come with a 5 year 100,000 miles warranty.
I would check to make sure all the CAC tubes are still attached. These are the big intercooler tubes. As you rev it up listen for air rushing noises.
Look for any obstructions in the air cleaner area. Check the oil level.
Other than that you will need to run fuel press tests and hook a scan tool up to pull codes.
