after sitting idle fr 4 days, my wife's 98 contour would not start. Thought it might be the battery, so had it tested after I couldn't jump it. Battery tested fine at autozone, so called to have it towed to the shop, thinking possible alterator problem. Shop just called and said that they pulled the plugs and the #3 cylander was full of water, that the head was cracked, and that it meant I needed to replace the whole engine. The car had no prior symptoms of having any motor issues (no smoke, good milage, no overheating, oil level stable over months, etc). Is it possible for a head to just crack like that? When I asked the mechanic if we could just replace the head, he said that it would mean that the "new" head would cause compression issues in the near future, burning out the bottom half of the motor?
Optional Information: 1998 Ford contour 2.0 4 cyl
Already Tried: tearing out my hair and running in circles. After the chicken sacrifice didn't work, I tried jumping the battery, then took battery to be tested at Autozone.
