I have an 1988 jetta Gl 1.8. I t has been running hot. I check anitfreeze level, replaced the cooling fan and its still getting hot, the fan doesnt turn on, I have also replaced a relay and had the wiring checked, It will turn on if I engage the A/C COMPRSSER OR BLOWER FOR THE HEAT. I am going to replace the thermostat and maybe the water pump. The top hose gets hot and the bottom stay cool???????
