Question

light won't go out/indicates left door is open

i have a nissan 1985 zx taht has a left side door light (bottom of door/red) taht will not go off, also the little voice tells me that my left side door is open after 5 mph. This is my first "Z" and I am a bit overwelmed with all the "gadgits".

Already Tried:
disconnecting the battery to reset. I have the battery disconnected at this time to save it.

Hi, thanks for the question. First thing I'd check is the pin switch in the door jam. These switches sometimes break and cause indicator lights/dome lights to stay on. you should be able to push it in with the door open and the indicator/dome light etc. should go off. If it doesn't move in/out or doesn't cause the light to go out when you push it in it's got a bad switch. You can unplug it for a temporary fix. If the switch is okay chances are the door is misadjusted. If you move the striker in a little it should take care of the problem.
