the horn on my 2000 toyota rav4 no longer works.

the horn on my 2000 toyota rav4 no longer works. i tried replacing the fuse, but as soon as i did the horn blew really loud and the fuse blew out. The toyota dealer wanted to charge me $250 just to do a diagnostic. how can i find out what is wrong on my own?

From your description, it sounds like you have a short in the horn circuit. You should get a "circuit breaker"and use this while testing for the short or you will be replacing alot of fuses. Auto parts stores should have it or a tool store. I'd unplug the horn/s and replace the fuse or breakerif you can get one and then trace the circuit from the horn back to the fusebox. I'd suspect a damaged wire in the rad. support area or somewhere under the hood and that's where I'd start looking. Let me know if you need more help.
