Repair on 1993 toyota distributor

Sent to Car Experts March 17 2006 at 1:12 PM

I have a 1993 Toyota camry le 4 cylinder. The car cuts out but when I wiggle the wires to the distributer the car will star again and run until it cuts out again. After removing the distributor cap I can see where a piece of rubber collar has either come loose or broken loose. I cannot seem to get the electrical connection loose to the distributor to repare the rubber collar.

Optional Information:
1993 Toyota camry 4cyl

Already Tried:
Nothing except take distributor cap off.

That's most likely where the wires are broken is right there at the grommet. You can cut the harness on both sides of it and splice back together using a healthy amount of electrical tape to protect your work from the distributor cap.The other option is to find the little pigtail harness in a Junkyard and just replace the whole thing.I will also provide you with a link to AllParts. They are connected nationally to many new and used parts dealers and distributors and salvage yards.it's easy to navigate to search for the part you need there.Hope this helps. Please click ACCEPT if so.Thanx,Michael.
