I ahve a 1992 Oldsmobile cutless supreme s 3.1 liter it runs rough and consumes gas and does not accelerate uphill and there strong gas fumes the trouble code says it is the M.A.P. sensor it has been replaced twice I also checked the wires to the connector there is a strong current in the negative terminals but there is a weak current in the positive wire terminal (the middle wire/terminal of the connector) . I have purchased a connector to replace th e old one with additional wires for reconnection do you think that this will change or correct the problem?

checked hoses replaces evap canister, changed M.A.P sensor change air filter changed oil replaces water pump and drive belt

It could be a bad connection sure.You should have 5 volts on one wire,ground on another and the middle one is signal return.Have you made sure that you have vacuum to the map sensor?

Reply to Davo/diablo666's Post: No I ahve not checked the vaccumm in either of the m.a.p. sensors I have replaced the car hasd been sitting up for a couple years before I purchased it and it has some electrical problems such as the dash cluster display and the fan , etc so I decided after I replaced it to check for a electrical connection after the service light went out when I first replce it replaced it but when checking the code again it srill registered m.a.p. sensor and now it runs really bad and I also changed the spark plugs and wires
