Sounds like you may have a problem with your transmission range sensor. The range sensor tells the computer where the shifter is at and what gear to be in. If the sensor is not reading correctly the vehicle will not start in park or nuetral sometimes. It also will release the torque converter clutch which may feel like the kicking in and out of overdrive. You will almost need a scan tool that will check data so you can monitor the range sensor to see if it is acting up when the vehicle is. The Actron scan tool will work to retreive codes if there is any, but will not work for data. When monitoring the data or pids you are watching what is going on with the sensor you are watching.
