I have a 2002 Tarus. It will not start or even turn over.

I have a 2002 Tarus. It will not start or even turn over. All the das lights come one but when yiu turn the key to the crank position the thieft light blinks even faster. The diognostics computer reads a faulty modual. Which one is it ? I can't afford to just start replacing parts as this is what the dealer said. Does any one know which one they have had the most problem with. Could it be the key sencing unit around ignition switch. Please help.
