removal of fan clutch

how do i remove the thermal fan clutch from my water pump? i have a 1999,chevy tahoe,5.7 liter engine.the water pump is off the car.

Between the water pump and the fan clutch you will find a large nut. Hold the pully firmly and unscrew the nut from the water pump. you can thenremove the pully .( Note: some water pumps have a left handed thread on the nut. look at your fan shroud and see if there is a notice . if not it is a regular thread.)
