Question

2002F150 Vibration Problem

Sent to Car Experts March 09, 2006 2:57 p.m.

I have a 2002 F150 4X4 with 40,000 miles on it. I am having an intermittant serious vibration problem. The steering wheel and seat begin to shake at about 40mph to the point of needing to pull over for safety concerns. I have replaced the tires, front end is alligned, I had new tie rods put in. This problem has happened two times in the last week, but seems to go away. After the most recent event, I took the truck for another ride in an effort to trigger another event and nothing happened. Also there is a high pitch metalic screaching noise coming from the rear that seems to be associated with each event. The check engine light does not come on during any of these events.   Does anyone have any ideas? Please help.
