My front end has problems on my 1978 Chevy van.

I have a 1978 Chevy van. The wheels in front are at an angle and the new tires I bought 4 weeks ago are worn to the metal on the inside.

    I took it to a repair shop whose mechanic put the van on a lift. There was a metal attachment with that seemed worn. He said the whole repair would run about $1,600. I wonder what this is all about.

    What are the possible front end problems that the 1978 van might experience and what can be done about it.
