Trailer towing

I have an 2002 chevy silverado 1500 pickup with a 4.8l engine I will be pulling a light trailer about 5000lbs. do I have to install a transmission cooler? It there anything else I should consider adding to the truck to help with the trailer towing? I am especially interested in extending the life of the truck.
