A quad driver module is a semiconductor device capable of controlling four separate outputs. Each output of the QDM is an open collector which when turned on pulls the output to ground. A load is connected between 12 volts and the driver. When the output is turned ON, current flows from the battery, through the load, through the driver to ground. Each QDM has a fault line feedback. A comparison of the driver input and output states is performed. If the input and output are in the same state, a fault will be detected. Each QDM has only one fault line that will detect a fault on any of the four outputs.
Now that you know what a quad driver is and does it would be a good idea to post any codes you may have retrieved to help isolate which of the circuits is at issue here.Once that info is available, the particular circuit will need to be diagnosed using a high impedence multi-meter,lab scope, hand held scan tool or even a test light to check for shorts. Please post the exact codes you retrieved. If you require the instructions for code retrieval, let me know.

codes listed were 35, 41, 44. on the datastream listings was where i noticed that quad driver 1 was low, and it showed crank sensos ref. voltage at 0, but the car still starts and runs but misses and wont idle untill it is warm.   thank you.......

ACCEPTED Check Mark

OOPS!That was for the 2.5L sorry. The only difference is in the R&R instructions.Fault isolation is the same.
