We are trying to change the fuel filter on my 99 ...

We are trying to change the fuel filter on my 99 expedition. We are unable to disconnect the old filter from the truck. there does not seem like there is enough room to shift it to unhook it from the gas line in any direction. Any help?

Already Tried:
Cannot get the fule filter disconnected from the fuel lines in either direction
