I recently received a jump start for my car, and I was able to start my car. However, my friend noticed that the lights were flickering inside my car (dome lights), and he said that was because the car was operating directly off the battery, and not off the alternator as it normally would, and that my battery was not receiving a charge for some reason. The car died about 5 minutes later. Was the car really operating from the battery, and if so, why were the lights flickering?
