i have a 1995 ford t-bird with a 4.6 v8 and about a 150000 miles on it.it used to run fine then the check engine light came on while in germany,the exhaust started smoking and smelling like fuel and now it takes about 3 times to start it,when it goes to start the rpms rev up then sometimes it backfires and dies,when you give it gas the rpms actually drop and it backfires and it wont accelerate until you slowly let off the gas and it will surge forward like it wants to go but wont.
