REPLIED Check Mark

The blower controller is probably bad.Usually when they go bad it can be traced back to a blower motor pulling too much current. My suggestion is to replace both at the same time.Replace the blower motor and the blower motor controller. If this has been helpful please click on my accept button.

I will try this but in the meantime I am having fuses blow for the heated seats and the moon roof - could this be related?

I think I understand but remembe, the fuse for the blower motor has been and is still taken out because the fan would not stop running - (it's getting pretty cold in there I must say :). The fuses for the seats and the moon roof are a separate issue. Plus the engine, trans., and brake indicator lights go on and off sometimes. So, I need to have the blower motor replaced and what do I tell the mechanic about the other fuses blowing - should we just use stronger fuses - or am I headed for an electrical nightmare? Your help is greatly appreciated - I don't know where else to turn and I surely cannot afford another car. Paula

ACCEPTED Check Mark

You need a blower motor and the blower control module for the blower motor to work correctly. The other fuse for the moon roof and seats will most likely be a chaffed wire under the seat or a bad seat motor. If it blows without moving the seat you can almost bet na wire under the seat is rubbing against the seat track. The mechanic will have to check for the short as I can't see that from here only make educated suggestions of where to look.
