I have a 1983 Pontiac Grand Prix, 2 door, 3.8ltr, with a dual jet carburetor that I just had rebuilt. When we started the car the fuel line was leaking and caught on fire, I fixed the fuel line and now it starts but seems to be idoling to low, and there is a vacuum hose off that seems to be in the back of the motor torwards the bottom. 2 questions where is the idol screw and do you know which vacuum hose it may be, if not is there anyway online to pull up a diagram of the hoses

Optional Information:
1983 Pontiac Grand Prix 3.8ltr

Already Tried:
rebuilding the carburetor, fixing the fuel line

hello!

here is a vacuum hose diagram for your engine:

Base (minimum) idle speed is usually adjusted by a screw, located on teh driver's side of the carburetor, close to the carb body. If you closely inspect the throttle linkage at teh carb body, you will be able to locate a throttle stop screw that sets how far closed the throttle plate can go; turn this screw clockwise slightly to increase base idle speed. (Being this old, I regret I cannot locate an illustration of this for you in any of the service manuals). If you refer to the instruction sheets that came with your carburetor rebuild kit, the idle speed adjustment for the particular carb number that you have will be detailed, along with the adjustment procedure and specs, in the rebuilding instructions. If you paid a repair shop to rebuild the carburetor, they should adjust this for you at no additional charge, as it is part of the rebuilding process.

I hope this is helpful to you; if so, an accept would be most appreciated! thanks!
