My trans seems fine all except when it shifts from first to second it acts like it slips then kicks to second gear pretty hard. what would cause this problem. I changed the filter and fluid. But it still does it and i checked the valve body gasket and it was in good shape. What should i do?

Thanks.

Sounds like to me a possible broken 1-2 shift accumulator spring. This is in the front part of the trans once the pan is dropped. Part #4431Images available only to Customers.

If you take this down, pull out the springs and check them for broken coils.
