I have 1979 chev g-20 van. while taking out dead alternator the loose hot lead from the post on alt. touched the case of the alt. & arced for about 3-5 secs. Now ign won't turn on and the solenoid on the starter won't even click & the starter of course won't crank. Is it a fuse or do I need to rewire some stuff?

Pre-1981 Chevrolet G-20 Van 350 ci

Already Tried:
cecked some wires and some fuses

Check all the fusable links coming off the starter. Pull on each one and if it stretches, it's burnt. Make sure you replace it only with another piece of link for safety, not regular wire.
