Reply to Michael's Post: Went to 5200rpm no problem in park. Readline being 6100. 2001 Volkswagon, Cabrio,Auto Trans, 40000 miles, 2.0 liter, 115hp. Check engine light falshing at times, but consistently on. Seems to sounds normal. Stopped workign yesterday, but now works again but check engine light still on. Almost seems like it may be stuck in a gear, perhaps. Fuel pump recently changed, Engine motor mount is failing, but not yet replaced. Frequent oil changes.

OK,great! What you need to do is to have the codes retrieved from the computer as they will isolate the issue to a specific circuit. Most all parts stores do this for FREE today.Get the codes and post back. They will most likely attempt to sell you a sensor or part which is the mentality behind the fre code check, but just get the codes and post back. While you are getting the codes ask if they have a tool loan program as we may need to look at fuel pressure here.Talk to ya soon.
