289 2 barrel 2 valve upgrade
Sent to Car Experts February 04 12:44 AM

I have a 65 mustang 2 barrell with 59,000 original miles, been in our family since it was new, I put dual exhaust on a couple of years ago, but I was wondering if it is worth making it a 4 barrell? At 200 hp now, what would my gains realistically be. The car is in excellent condition and is only a weekend driver. Looking for a little more horse.

Thanks for the question. My thoughts are that it will be well worth it. You can probably expect to add another 15-25 HP maybe more, with the 4bbl add on. Just don't go overboard with a large CFM. This can actually hurt HP. 600 cfm for the most part will be well worth it, and it will be fun!

Thanks
