The abs brakes on my 99 ford ranger 4x4 activate when ...

The abs brakes on my 99 ford ranger 4x4 activate when stopping on dry pavement, when slowing through 10 mph. Suggestions?

1999 Ford Ranger 4.0 EFI

Already Tried:
Replaced rear speed sensor.

Thanks for your question. It sounds like the trigger wheel for one of the abs speed sensors has a problem like a crack or broken tooth. Visually check each trigger wheel if you can see them. You might have to take it to a shop to have them diag the speed sensors with a scanner.

You're talking about the speed sensor on the wheel itself, right?

That's correct. The rear speed sensor is in the rear axle housing though in the center top.

I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure it's just the rear ABS. The fuse installed for the abs is 10amps, the manual says it would be 20 for 4 wheel abs.

One easy way of checking for sure is to see if you have an electrical wire going to each front wheel.
