Question

Ford F-150 Gear Problem

Sent to Car Experts January 21, 2006 10:07 a.m.

I have a 2001 Ford F-150 with the 6 cylinder 4.2 liter engine that this morning would not go into gear. When I press on the clutch it goes all the way to the floor and I can not get it into any gear at all. The clutch has a lot of play about 3/4 of the way down and then it tightens up a little bit. I was on the road at a stop sign when this happened. I did not hear any noise fron the clutch or transmission prior to this happeneing.

Optional Information:
2001 Ford F-150 4.2 liter

Already Tried:
nothing, I do not know anything about transmissions or clutches
