my 1994 toyota camry 123,000 miles. when i turn corners the steering wheel will not turn easily, it shakes and it feels like there is no power steering. i have taken it to a garage and they found nothing. what is wrong?

Already Tried:
i took it to garage checked power fluid, looked at pinion,i don't know what that is. they found nothing

You might want to check the belt tension. what your \describing could be a loose belt that would get worse if you hit a puddle.

A rack and pinion with a bad spool valve could also act that way but it sounds like they are looking for that.
