Question

96' Chevy hard to start and hesitates

Sent to Car Experts January 12, 2006 8:54 p.m.

I have recently performed a tuneup on my truck. I replaced the cap and rotor, spark plugs, and plug wires. After the tuneup I have noticed that it hesitates until it warms up. I have also noticed that after it rains it doesn't want to start. I looked for arching and couldn't find any. Please help me with this. thanks

Optional Information:
1996 Chevrolet c1500 4.3 sfi

Already Tried:
I looked over my plug wires, looked for arching, and checked the distributor cap. I even tried new plugs.

ACCEPTED Check Mark

This is familiar, have seen it before. You need to change your ignition coil.I just changed one for a customer recently. You can help to verify that it is the coil by spraying water on it while the vehicle is running. If it sputters or even quits-you will have your answer.

I have actually figured out that My distributor cap is letting moisture in at the bottom. You responded quickly and tried to help so I am going to go ahead and pay you.

Thanks
