Where to add Transmission fluid for 97 Ford Taurus.

Sent to Car Experts December 17 08:47 PM

My 97 Ford Taurus needs to be fill Transmission fluid as my car have problem on transmission,
and I saw it almost empty of Transmission fluid though dipstick.

I feel that it's dangerous to drive for repair since fluid is almost empty, so I want to add the
"Transmission fluid", (Valvoline) brought from WalMart, by myself.

However, I cannot find the "plug" to add the fluid; as the User manual mentions, it can be added though a "filler tube"?

Any idea can help!!!
Thanks!!!

The dip stick tube and filler tube are one in the same.

Use a transmission funnel to fill (you can get one at any parts store probably wallmart too).

Reply to Marc's Post: Thanks for giving me the info but
I guessed I might be able to use that plug to fill in before, however, the plug is so deep under the engine, and it seems odd to fill in like this...

Also I need to go WalMart to see what transmission funnel is first, since last time I went to a auto part store there is no such thing...
