Can belts be lubricated with WD40 to stop screaking problem?

Belt screaks on cold mornings. Should it be lubricated with WD40?

Nothing. Seems like I tried this years ago, but do not remember.

If the belt is making noise it is because it is either worn or the tension is not corect. If the belt has been making noise it probably needs to be replace i would suggest going to a carquest or a napa store stay away from autozone belts i have had trouble with new ones right out of the box. to answer the question Yes wd will make it stop but not for long and its not a good idea its only a very temp fix.
