my heater hasn't been working..air comes out but it is cool air.then i noticed that my car was running hot, when the temperature guage would get close to the "hot" side my heater would spit out hot air for about 15 seconds and then the temperature guage will go down,momentarily..i added about 1/2 gallon of coolant and haven't tested it yet...any suggestions?Optional Information: 1996 NissanAlready Tried: not a damn thing, adding coolant but i haven't driven it so far

I would change your thermostat and make sure your coolant tests for 30 below or close to that.Would be a good idea to have your system flushed or atleast drained and fresh coolant added.Let me know if you need more help.
