How long does the engine run before it shuts off? A couple of seconds maybe? If so it sounds like the fuel pump is running from the initial voltage from turning the key on. The fuel pump will run for about three seconds after the key is turned to the run position. After the initial fuel pump when the key is turned on the fuel pump shuts off until the air flow meter door moves from air going through it from the engine running. There is a switch in the air meter that closes and grounds the relay and allows current to flow to the fuel pump and that is how the fuel pump runs while the engine is running. You will need a dvom to check continuity of the wires and to check the air flow meter switch to see if it is closing.

I hope this helps. Please click the Accept button to close the question.
