I have a 98 ford ranger 4x4 3.0. When I tie my (new) heater valve shut. the Ac works fine but blows out the def. vents when I hit 40mph. If I untie the heater valve, the air blows very hot and out of the def vents once 40mph is reached

the cable needs to be adjusted for the heat valve you should also check to ensure that the engine fan is working properly with the ac compressor coming on. is the condensor plugged or does it have bent fins

Reply to GearHead1's Post: The ac works fine if the heater valve is kept shut. If it's released it goes back to the same problem Also why does it blow out of the defrost vents once speeds of approx 45 mph is reached
