My car when into the red zone for tempature and ...

My car when into the red zone for tempature and started smoking and smelling and I took it to the car place and they said that I had only a little bit of oil left but I got my oil changed about 1 month ago?

Already Tried:
I towed it to the car dealership and they said they have to put a new thermostat before they can tell all that is wrong
